MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies and light rains are forecast to prevail over the country on Tuesday due to the easterlies and the northeast monsoon or amihan.
This forecast comes from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in a morning weather update.
Article continues after this advertisementState weather specialist Obet Badrina said the northeast monsoon will continue to affect areas of Northern and Central Luzon, bringing light rains to several areas.

(The northeast monsoon will bring light rains, particularly over most of Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region.)

Article continues after this advertisementIlocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, Metro Manila and Calabarzon may experience isolated light rains from the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, areas of Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro in Mindanao will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

(The easterlies, or winds from the Pacific Ocean, will continue to bring high chances of rainfall, especially in Eastern Mindanao.)
The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
The state weather bureau also warned of possible flash floods or landslides in areas where the easterlies will prevail.

Pagasa hoisted a gale warning over the seaboards of Northern Luzon due to the potential impacts of the northeast monsoon.
“Delikado maglayag ang mga maliliit na sasakyang pandagat, lalong-lalo na po ‘yung mga maliliit na mga bangka sa mga baybayin na Batanes, Cagayan, kasamang Baboyan Islands, sa Ilocos Norte at hilagang bahagi ng Ilocos Sur,” Badrina said.

(It is dangerous for small sea vessels, especially small boats, to sail along the coasts of Batanes, Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, and the northern part of Ilocos Sur.)
In a statement Wednesday, the finance department said it has signed a loan agreement amounting $111.427 million or about P6.34 billion for the Samar Pacific Coastal Road (SPCR) II project in Northern Samar, which is being supported by the Export-Import Bank of Korea-Economic Development Cooperation Fund, while a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was also signed and exchanged for the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project Phase 1 and the Panay-Guimaras-Negros Island Bridges Project.
In a statement on Wednesday, the internet service provider said that Infinera would supply the submarine line terminal equipment, which facilitates the data transmissiongolden palasyo, for the fiber cable project.
